Partner - In partnership with another veteran developer we opened our own website development and hosting shop. We currently boast hundreds of clients and many top professional web sites. Our niche market is focused marketing to the customer's website.

 

08/2004 to 08/2005 - Site Dynamics - Clearwater, FL

Contract Developer - Process Engineer

Returned to perform many of the same tasks as before. The new responsibility was assisting the development manager in the creation of processes to streamline the work flow. Created standardized project documentation templates for the development team. Assisted in the upgrade of an internal custom groupware application through full life cycle.

 

05/2004 to 07/2004 - Rita Technology Services- Tampa, FL

Contract Developer

Short term contract to develop an updated version of the Visual Basic cash register program used by the traffic violation department. Developed an object oriented VB6 application based on the specifications provided.

 

02/2004 to 04/2004 - Site Dynamics- Clearwater, FL

Contract Developer

Brought in for a two month contract to assist the existing team of two developers responsible for the maintenance of several large, professional websites. Worked on several sites written in ASP/HTML with MS SQL server databases using Visual Interdev and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Created new modular content management system in ASP/HTML and MS SQL server for web site content management. Created Windows XP service in VB 6.0 to run an automated email distribution application.

 

08/2003 to 01/2004 - BayCare HomeCare- Largo, FL

Senior Developer

One of three developers responsible for the maintenance of several in-house Visual Basic 6.0 software applications used for accounting and inventory maintenance. Worked on internal websites written in ASP with a MySQL database using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX. Created several accounting reports using Crystal Reports 8.5 to SQL Server 2000. Created large complicated stored procedures on SQL server 2000. Created and maintained a Redhat Linux Samba server for the version control software.

 

02/2003 to 08/2003 - Diocese of St. Petersburg- St. Petersburg, FL

Volunteer

While laid-off from Tech Data did volunteer work for some not-for-profit organizations. Assisted with youth programs as a technical support person providing assistance with servers and software solutions. Created custom intranet web based and desktop applications in Visual Basic 6.0, and MS Access to track youth, and adults on service trips. Modified and cleaned up websites created in ASP and SQL Server 2000. Developed a web based Content Management System using PHP, XHTML, Javascript and MySQL on a Linux server.

 

11/2000 to 02/2003 Computer Business Associates/Tech Data Corporation- Tampa, Florida

Contract Developer to Employee Tech Data Corporation Clearwater, FL

Mentored two new VB developers to teach them Object Oriented development techniques through the entire life cycle following the Kurata method. Technical Lead on initiative for stocking and ordering applications, which required many skills, including diplomacy with the users and motivating discouraged developers. Wrote extensive documentation on a large VB application by reverse engineering the code. Created COM objects for data access and security. Provided support to other developers as they were converting several VB applications to Seibel. Analyzed and repaired a mission critical SQL batch process for the supply and purchasing system that required debugging existing SQL and creation of new SQL statements, stored procedures and tables. Lead developer on a Stocking Logic integration project for the purchasing department which included a new GUI and many stored procedures and tables on a Microsoft SQL 6.5 server.


12/97 to 11/2000 Compuware- Tampa, Florida

Consultant - Developer. Three assignments:

1. Franklin Templeton St. Petersburg, FL. Designed developed and deployed through full life cycle numerous Visual Basic applications to supplement the check management system. Created extensive application documentation for VB applications. Assisted in the design and creation of the client-server infrastructure from staff to hardware. Coordinated and lead the team through difficult projects, which required exceptional organizational skills. Provided production support for several systems that included troubleshooting, code maintenance and configuration management for both front and back end systems. Lead the development team for a rewrite project to update some mission critical Visual Basic applications converting many parts of the project into COM objects. I took classes in Java in expectation of Web based system implementation. I also administered a Linux Server running Redhat 6.2 and Sybase 11.9.2

 

2. Tech Data Corporation St. Petersburg, FL. Lead the design, development and deployment through full life cycle a Tech Faxing Suite using VB5 and SQL Server 6.5 . The suite included two desktop client pieces, an image library, a broadcast fax reporting tool, and a server application running as an NT Service. Provided technical assistance and mentoring to development team on development techniques and issues.

 

3. GTE (Verizon) Data Systems Temple Terrace FL. Worked on several batch-file-processing applications for telephone billing. Upgraded Visual Basic 3.0 and 4.0 applications to Visual Basic 5.0 by converting and updating API calls, and upgrading the data access to the most current DAO/RDO/ADO standards. Administrated a Microsoft SQL Server 6.5. Lead developer for the Year 2000 Project (Y2K) for the telephone billing translation applications. Mentored and trained four other VB developers on VB 5 Object oriented techniques following the Kurata method.

 

7/97 to 12/97 Catalina Marketing- St. Petersburg, Florida

Programmer Analyst.

Worked on Client/Server based coupon generation software in Visual Basic 4.0 that generated point of sale coupons. Wrote many reports in a batch-file processing format using Crystal Reports 5.0 against an Oracle database.

Application Developer / SQA Tester. Testing - Client/server software development and testing. High level training in automated testing process of the SQA Suite. Lead the Testing Team using SQA Team Test, SQA Load Test and SQA Process.

Visual Basic / SQL Programming - Developed Defect Tracking application using VB4.0 32 bit implementing DAO 3.0 and RDO. Participated in development of three tier OLE object oriented International Human Resource application using VB 4.0. RDO, SQL Server 6.5.
